Olga Krasovska, born in Ukraine, began painting while growing up in Egypt. After graduation, Olga was invited to work as an art teacher at the Pedagogical University located in Kriovoj Rog, Ukraine. More recently in 2004, she moved to the United States, where she currently resides in St. Paul, Minnesota.
"My whole life has been consumed with the passion of fine art. Ever since I can remember, I have been fortunate to either study, practice, or teach the style and techniques of art." So explains Olga's favorite quotation by Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini: "Everyone lives in his own fantasy world, but most people don't understand that. No one perceives the real world. Each person simply calls his private, personal fantasies 'the truth'. The difference is that I know I live in a fantasy world. I prefer it that way and resent anything that disturbs my vision".
Olga's collections are painted on cotton fabric using her own specialized technique of blending watercolor, ink, and gouache. Painting on cotton fabric is challenging. While trying to achieve the realistic representation of cityscapes, it is quite easy to destroy the veracity of perspective and contours. On the other hand, it conveys a mystic sense added to the melting atmospheric feel of the narrow streets, old houses and their worn-out surfaces.
Olga's “Old Town” series combines imagination and nostalgia with conceptions of old European architecture and cities, evoking dreams of a getaway to a little vintage town where our great-great-grandmothers were telling fairytales for the first time.
Vivid color schemes are a hallmark of Olga’s “Time of Elegance” collection, which conveys the effervescence of a women's beauty, and a retro-style sense of fashion, while revealing opulent glamour and vintage grace.
